Overview Location: Harvey, Illinois. This position will be primarily evenings/nights with the ability to train and flex to day shift as needed. Lead a team of approximately 8 salary and 100-120 hourly employees. Reports to the Regional Distribution Manager and manages all warehouse functions for the Harvey location, including safety programs, receiving, storage, picking, and shipping. The operation runs 24 hours across three shifts M-F, with occasional Saturdays. This is a critical, high-profile role leading the largest Distribution Center in Atkore.

What you’ll do

Work closely with Customer Service, Manufacturing, Demand Planning and Corporate Transportation to oversee day-to-day distribution, warehousing, and fulfillment operations while maintaining and enhancing standards.

Coach, train, and develop a team of about six to eight Warehouse Supervisors.

Ensure high standards in safety, quality, delivery, and cost within the distribution center.

Drive consistency and cost reduction through the creation and implementation of standard work.

Create, implement, and manage distribution center KPIs.

Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams in Kaizen and Lean initiatives.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate service failures and implement corrective and preventative actions.

Develop and manage the distribution center, inventory, and transportation workforce with performance assessments and coaching.

Develop and implement processes to improve Atkore’s Commercial Metrics, including on-time delivery.

What you’ll bring

Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred.

Minimum of 5 years’ warehouse, logistics, and management experience.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing a distribution facility with budget responsibility of $12-15MM.

Experience managing employee relations in a unionized environment.

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience with WMS, JDE and RF Smart highly desired.

Experience with lean and six sigma processes; Lean/Six Sigma certification desired.

Timeline expectations

Within 3 months: complete Atkore Immersion Program; understand Lean Daily Management and Strategy Deployment; develop familiarity with JDE/RF-Smart and the local collective bargaining agreement.

Within 6 months: align with Atkore’s Strategic Summary; lead individual development plans for warehouse supervisors; participate in Kaizen events.

Within 12 months: contribute to process improvements (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost); visit at least 2 network RDCs to learn regional needs; collaborate on network-wide improvements.

Compensation and benefits As of the date of posting, a good faith estimate of current pay for this position is $88,240 - $121,330. Placement depends on competencies, education, experience, skills, and business needs. Other compensation may include overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, stock, and other incentives.
