The Senior Director, Business Strategy at Equifax Workforce Solutions (EWS) will play a pivotal role in the year-round process that shapes the EWS business strategy. Under the direction of the EWS VP of Strategy, you will be providing strategic recommendations to the EWS President and Line of Business/Functional leaders by (a) supporting the annual strategy playbook development process (b) completing assessments on high priority growth opportunities, (c) creating comprehensive market and competitive assessments, (d) be deployed to help drive select high priority and highly visible strategic initiatives; and (e) partnering with the Data team Leader to continue building out the data acquisition strategy.
You will drive a continuous dialogue across the organization by supporting and coordinating the annual Strategic Thinking & Planning process, in terms of content development (e.g., strategic thinking sessions) and presentations (e.g., CEO, QBR, Board of Directors meetings). You will work closely across the EWS business as well as with Enterprise functions. This role is highly visible to the leadership team and could lead to career growth inside the businesses.
This role reports to the VP, Strategy for EWS and will be a hybrid workplace model offering the flexibility to work remotely as well as in our EWS HQ building in Clayton, MO. (This is not a fully-remote role)
What you’ll do
Develop the EWS business strategy which defines the EWS growth story and ensures connectivity to sub-strategies within specific vertical markets and lines of business
Combine internal and external intel on macro, market, and competitive events and trends (e.g., emerging business models, new capabilities, traditional and non-traditional / emerging players, ongoing M&A activity), distill key insights, and articulate relevant opportunities or threats for our company
Run strategy projects to assess new opportunities or identify solutions to potential threats (i.e., articulate and size the opportunity / solution, flesh out implications for EWS and potential competitive responses, lay out path for execution, prepare presentation material, socialize it with key stakeholders, and present to senior executives)
Assist the President, EWS VP of Strategy, and LOB / Functional Leads in planning and executing their strategic initiatives
Lead working sessions with cross-functional internal (top, middle management) and external stakeholders to identify new opportunities: facilitate the process, contribute with thought leadership, analyze and distill the outcome of the sessions, and create executive-level recommendations or feed them into the annual strategic planning process
Support the President, Business Leaders, EWS VP of Strategy, and M&A team in developing M&A business cases
Support annual strategy development and governance processes
Be a strategic thought partner and support the SVP/GM of Data on strategies to grow or broaden data assets
What experience you need
Bachelor’s Degree
7+ years of related work experience with 3+ in strategy, with a proven track record of (a) leading strategy projects while working across multiple stakeholder groups and (b) defining and delivering a cross-enterprise strategy
Highly independent in thinking and framing problems, driven by intellectual curiosity
High degree of comfort on managing multiple assignments and priorities simultaneously
Strong quantitative and problem solving skills
Executive presence and comfort with presenting to senior executives
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to align and coordinate internal resources
Refined skills in developing and delivering compelling presentations
