The Granulation Site Manager coordinates and supervises site operations to ensure material is available to meet production needs. This role coordinates with key departmental staff to ensure seamless integration and operation of the granulators with site blast furnaces. The position makes decisions regarding site safety, operations, logistics and maintenance, analyzes unusual problems, and provides supervision to site employees. It oversees capital expenditures and participates in site budget preparation and control. What You’ll Be Contributing
Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines. Establish, communicate, and assign job responsibilities, goals, and performance standards for contracted employees within the Granulation Facility. Perform surveillance of maintenance and operations by conducting inspections. Participate in department safety meetings and safety inspections; ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations. Oversee all aspects of maintenance on site. Monitor production needs to ensure material is available; motivate, set goals, and provide feedback. Maintain records of production activities; coordinate and supervise the work of contractors for specified repairs. Prepare reports and paperwork for management; engage with vendors for equipment and supplies. Support facility safety and environmental programs; lead in Maintenance Excellence Process. Coordinate with other department managers to facilitate granulation with Cleveland Cliffs operations. Assist with annual budgets and equipment specifications; review schedules and supervise maintenance activities; resolve maintenance issues. Stay informed on industry trends; solicit competitive pricing for major equipment and parts. Work with Planner to compile records on maintenance projects and prepare management reports. Ensure compliance with plant and OSHA safety rules; conduct monthly safety meetings and trainings; proactively assess hazards and investigate accidents. Collaborate with GLS Board on goals and strategic planning; assist in budgeting for the company. Review invoices as directed by GLS Board; recommend improvements to productivity and morale. Coordinate environmental reporting and stack tests; monitor subcontractor material handlers. Coordinate granule shipping schedules with GLS Board and Cleveland Cliffs; manage monthly meetings and reporting to GLS Management. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor. To Succeed In This Position, You Will Need
Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc. Minimum 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in engineering; graduate degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in management of aggregate processing or steel mill operation. Knowledge of maintenance principles is an asset; granulation management experience is an asset. Industrial health and safety practices and legislation knowledge. Up to 10% domestic travel. What’s Next for You
