Project Manager, Continuous Improvement Leader role at 3M. Responsibilities
Lead Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Identify, plan, and execute projects to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels in distribution centers. Utilize a Broad Range of Improvement Methodologies: Apply Lean, Six Sigma, Quality management, Kaizen, and other industry best practices to streamline processes and drive quality improvements. Conduct Process Analysis and Optimization: Analyze current processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop optimized workflows to improve performance. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with operations, business units, laboratory, and quality teams to ensure successful implementation of improvement initiatives. Develop and Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Establish and track KPIs to measure project success, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. Facilitate Training and Development Programs: Conduct training sessions on continuous improvement methodologies, tools, and best practices. Manage Project Timelines and Deliverables: Oversee timelines, deliverables, and resources to ensure initiatives are completed on time and within scope. Drive Technology and Automation Integration: Identify and implement opportunities for technology and automation to enhance efficiency and reduce manual processes. Qualifications
Required qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or science (completed and verified prior to start) Five (5) years of work experience in manufacturing, quality, or laboratory in a private, public, government or military environment Three (3) years of experience in project leadership or operations excellence Two (2) years of Black Belt / Continuous Improvement experience with demonstrated use of Six Sigma tools Additional qualifications that could help PMP certification or Project Management/ Lean Six Sigma certification Eight (8) to Fifteen (15) years of work experience in manufacturing, quality, or laboratory environments Transformation management Problem-solving, communication and leadership skills with cross-functional project experience Work location and travel
Work location: On-site at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN (four days per week) Travel: Up to 20% domestic Relocation Assistance: May be authorized Other
