The Manager of Building Services leads the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the Gleacher Center, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and welcoming environment for staff, faculty, students, and visitors. This role provides comprehensive office management support, including the supervision of front-line facility and administrative staff, oversight of supply inventory, and coordination of operational logistics for building users. The Manager also performs simple accounting tasks such as processing purchase orders, assisting with expense reconciliations, and supporting the department’s financial tracking and reporting. This position serves as a key contact for building access, parking, mail, and central office functions, and collaborates with the Harper Facilities team to unify departmental operations. Pay
Base pay range: $26.44/hr - $27.40/hr. The included pay rate or range represents the University’s good faith estimate of the possible compensation offer for this role at the time of posting. Department

Familiar with all Booth buildings to help unify the new combined Booth Facilities Department. Manage the daily operations and overall organization of the central office, including supervising administrative workflows and ensuring office procedures are consistently followed. Assist with onboarding new staff by providing and checking out phone numbers, access cards, and suite access. Create and update the building directory. Assist with telecoms within the building(s). Assist in the coordination and scheduling of custodial, security, and staff for daily building needs and special events as needed. Maintain accurate records of office supply inventories and oversee replenishment of materials. Manage all incoming and outgoing deliveries, including mail distribution to departments and divisions. Oversee parking lists, assign spaces for faculty, guests, and authorized users, and facilitate access approvals and card programming. Administer building and suite access for Booth staff, students, and faculty by programming access cards and supporting onboarding of new users. Perform basic accounting functions, including creating and processing purchase orders, reconciling GEMS reports, managing postage funds, and tracking office equipment expenditures; support invoice approvals with the Accounting Office. Monitor and respond to Facilities emails, assign and track work orders, and generate supporting reports as needed. Support maintenance, implementation, and training for work order and access control systems. Coordinate safety drills, event logistics, room setups, and capital projects as needed. Maintain accurate and confidential office records; produce operational or financial reports as requested. Provide building tours, assist visitors, and ensure a positive experience for all building users. May assist or support capital projects within the buildings. Serve as backup and cross-train in other duties as needed or required. Prepare special reports and summaries; assist in managing daily operations and developing administrative goals and policies. Coordinate special projects as directed by leadership; prepare write-ups for recommendations and financial/administrative reports. Perform other related work as needed. Qualifications
Education
Minimum qualifications include vocational training, apprenticeships, or equivalent experience in a related field (not typically required to have a four-year degree). Work Experience
Minimum requirements include 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline. Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a union environment. Successful experience as a manager. Preferred Competencies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Customer service skills. Decision making and organizational skills; ability to manage many projects simultaneously. Ability to work as part of a team and independently. Strong diplomacy and communication with diverse constituencies (faculty, staff, students, vendors, suppliers). Understanding and appreciation of higher education; maintain confidentiality. Working Conditions
