Method Recruiting, a 3x Inc. 5000 company, is seeking a seasoned Senior Engineering Manager to lead the development of a new product offering. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable coaching engineers with a wide range of experience, leveraging technical leaders as well as supporting engineers early in their careers. The manager will oversee a front-end app engineering team with strong competencies in React JS technologies. In addition to people management responsibilities, this person will collaborate closely with stakeholders on project management, and partner with the broader technical leadership team on web and mobile initiatives. Mentor and manage a world-class team of web and mobile engineers Provide career growth paths through coaching, individual goal setting, 1-on-1s, performance appraisal, rewards, and recognition Create a culture that motivates the team to excel through ownership, empowerment, collaboration, innovation, and transparency Be hands-on with coding when needed to unblock the team, address critical issues, or demonstrate best practices Directly manage the development and delivery of the new business and personal finance applications on web and mobile Partner with Product Management, Design, and Quality to ensure the apps meet functional and visual requirements Ensure apps are high-quality and meet non-functional requirements for performance, scalability, and security Own project management for the apps: aligning roadmaps, tracking resources and schedules, addressing gaps and escalations Define technical direction for the product, ensuring alignment with overall architecture and design of the web and mobile platform Manage the development process using Agile Scrum/Kanban and own release plans, making trade-offs where needed Provide visibility to leadership of team priorities and handle team-related communications in established operating mechanisms Ensure engineers collaborate closely with cloud services teams for seamless integration with microservices Jointly own the engineering platform roadmap to guide important technology decisions related to architecture and design Ensure engineering best practices are followed and foster knowledge-sharing across the platform Qualifications

7+ years of experience in the software industry, with 2+ years in engineering management Proven experience as a technical leader with the ability to contribute to codebases when needed Strong people-management skills with a track record of leading high-performing engineering teams Solid project management skills in planning and execution Strong technical proficiency in React Native/Redux web and mobile technologies Good understanding of cloud technologies (microservices, Java, Spring Boot, relational databases) Experience developing customer-facing apps is preferred Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and partnering with stakeholders to create clarity Ability to evaluate trade-offs and balance short- vs long-term decision-making Strong experience working with Product Management to translate functional requirements into technical deliverables Experience with Agile processes (Scrum/Kanban) Experience partnering with UX designers to build user-friendly visual interfaces Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels Experience coaching and mentoring engineers at various levels Fintech domain experience a plus BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent Base pay range: $200,000.00/yr - $240,000.00/yr Method Recruiting is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
