Develop and lead a Safety Culture that is consistent with CMC standards Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture Ensure an environment of continuous improvement is maintained and work closely with other CMC counterparts to identify areas of improvement Team Management – supervise the melt shop team, including recruitment, hiring, training, coaching and discipline of department personnel Manage training programs to maintain and improve process performance and develop salary and hourly employees Develop and sustain collaborative working relationships throughout the organization Implement and maintain all Job Safety Analysis and Work Instruction documents for the electric arc furnace and ladle metallurgical furnace Demonstrate integrity, leadership, and effective communication Collaborate with Leadership Team for the area Utilize Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and data analytics to meet or exceed departmental goals, objectives, and forecasting models Collaborate with logistics to optimize delivery, storage, and inventory of raw materials Monitor market trends to assess impact on costs and availability; coordinate with raw material supply chain for cost efficiency Advocate sound business practices to safely produce a quality product within budget, on schedule and aligned with plant and company strategy Support continuous process improvements plant-wide, including product quality, processes, and cost efficiency Apply lean manufacturing and other continuous improvement methods to enhance quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness What You'll Need
A minimum of 5 years melt shop experience and detailed knowledge of melt shop and casting operations Exceptional leadership and team-building skills Effective listening and communication skills (verbal and written) Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize Ability to motivate and organize multiple efforts to accomplish goals Ability to direct others to complete tasks efficiently and safely Understanding of metallurgy, refractory materials, their properties, and applications Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations within the steel industry As part of a team, provide technical support to production and maintenance for projects Your Education
Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Engineering or a related field preferred Benefits
