Overview
STV currently has an opening in either our Charlotte, or Raleigh, NC offices for a
Work Zone Traffic Control Senior Project Manager
for our Transportation division.
This role offers unlimited opportunities to play a critical role in delivering the projects, interact directly with senior staff and clients, while promoting the culture of a healthy work-life balance. This role also offers the opportunity to function as a resource in support of our other offices and have a direct impact on the improvement of infrastructure nationally. You have the chance for upward mobility while building your own team, working on Design/Build and Design/Build/Build projects of all sizes and complexities. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who desires to work in a team-environment, displays confidence, and possesses a solid understanding of traffic management principles.
You will have opportunity to support traffic and transportation engineering planning, analysis, design, project, and program management.
Responsibilities
Develop traffic control plans for various work zones
Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure compliance with design specifications
Conduct site evaluations and assessments
Provide technical expertise and guidance on traffic control issues
Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) development and review (Design work zone traffic control)
Developing and maintaining task/project schedules; construction cost estimates; tracking and managing budgets for projects; coordinating with other NCDOT divisions, as well as federal, state and local agencies
Conduct and manage the TMP process from beginning to end, including scope development, task initiation, schedule development, consultant management, field review/evaluation
Attend and lead meetings
Prepare and participate in presentations to the client team
Proficient in engineering principles and practices
Strong project management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Familiarity with traffic control design and regulations
Skills & Abilities
A strong background in Work Zone Traffic Control, task management, and supervision of professional staff where applicable
Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
Strong writing skills for proposals, technical reports and memoranda
The ability to balance multiple concurrent assignments
The ability to train, mentor and lead staff on a wide range of project assignments

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
12 years relevant experience
Professional Engineer (PE) license registered with the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors
Previous experience in traffic control design and project management
Compensation Compensation Range: $134,105.70 - $178,807.60
