Purpose : The position will work with the EPIC team to design, deliver, and manage professional development programs in computing education while fostering partnerships and representing the organization to broaden participation in the field. Responsibilities : Design and deliver online, in-person, and hybrid professional development in computing education (computer science, computational thinking, data science, and/or artificial intelligence) that broadens participation in computing. Lead various computer science and artificial intelligence educator cohorts as a project director who manages participant retention and success. Contribute to EPIC’s role as a national leader in computing education through the creation of resources and the cultivation of partnerships that advance EPIC’s mission and goals. Required Qualifications : Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years of experience developing and conducting training programs. Certified teacher. Experience teaching K-12 computer science and artificial intelligence. Experience facilitating professional development. Solid understanding of fundamental programming concepts and the ability to teach pseudocode interpretation and coding basics across various languages. Dynamic communicator capable of creating and delivering engaging, motivational presentations and effectively teaching complex concepts to various audiences, including beginners. Experience developing or delivering computer science instructional resources for K-12 educators/students. Track record of publication in educational research, either as lead or support author. Experience providing differentiated instruction that meets the needs of a variety of students. Ability to foster open and constructive dialogues with educators, promoting understanding and collaboration on topics related to effective pedagogy, differentiated instruction, belonging in STEM, embracing differences, and broadening participation in computing education. Ability to manage a project with responsibilities shared across internal and external team members; ability to work effectively under pressure and with tight timelines; flexibility and ability to continuously improve methods and procedures. Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% time. Ability and willingness to shift work schedule to support or manage professional learning in afternoons, evenings, and weekends to accommodate teacher participants. Preferred Qualifications : Experience using Canvas as a learning management system. Experience creating and delivering online and in-person professional development to K-12 computer science teachers. Certification in CS 8-12 (TExES 241, PRAXIS 5652, or equivalent) Proficiency in working with the Google and Microsoft Office suites and ability to quickly learn how to use other communication and productivity tools. Salary Range : $75,000 + depending on qualifications Working Conditions : Travel required (20-25%) Work Shift : Some evenings and weekends required to facilitate trainings for in-service teachers Required Materials : Resume 3 work references with their contact information; at least one reference should be from a supervisor Letter of interest Applicants selected for interviews will be required to present 1 lesson related to 1 of the 2 following topics of their choosing: computer science (arrays/lists) or AI literacy as a part of the interview process.
