Overview Residency Program Manager role at Dignity Health. This position reports to the Program Director (PD) and provides oversight for all administrative aspects of the Graduate Medical Education (GME) and Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) Programs at Dominican Hospital Santa Cruz. The role supports compliance with ACGME requirements, NRMP, ERAS, and medical board licensure, and serves as a liaison among administration, teaching faculty, system hospitals, and program affiliates in alignment with the Mission and Values of Dignity Health.

Responsibilities

Manage GME and UME program activities and resources on a daily basis, including staffing, directing, and supervising administrative, informational, and clerical support for residents, faculty, clinicians, and educators.

Oversee the work of program coordinators and perform executive duties as assigned.

Aid in creation, monitoring, and reconciliation of the Residency Program annual operating budget; promote cost-effectiveness; manage grants when applicable.

Ensure compliance with accrediting, documenting, certifying, and licensing requirements across agencies (ACGME, NRMP, ERAS, ABFM, AAFP, etc.) and stay current with policies and bylaws relevant to clinical service and training supervision.

Plan for and respond to emergencies by modifying assignments, rescheduling, and coordinating support to maintain patient care coverage and supervision.

Manage contracts related to Residency Programs and GME/UME with other hospital systems and community physicians.

Develop and maintain communications with administrative staff and external contacts to provide guidance on ACGME accreditation, licensure, and related requirements.

Support the PD in alignment with the Organization’s Mission, Core Values, and Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).

Coordinate with administration, faculty, hospitals, associations, and program affiliates to ensure smooth program operations and adherence to standards.

Occasional travel for meetings related to the program may be required.

Qualifications

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of graduate medical education requirements, residency training, ACGME standards, NRMP, and Medicare GME requirements.

Operational management experience, including budget preparation and administrative support for a department; ability to manage detailed projects.

Pay Range $47.02 - $69.94 / hour
