Director, US Tax Compliance (Federal & State)
Pharmacosmos Therapeutics Inc. is seeking a Director, US Tax Compliance (Federal & State) to own the U.S. income/franchise compliance life cycle and elevate our operating model while partnering closely with Global Tax on planning and cross-border matters. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned US Federal and State Tax practitioner with experience in managing compliance for industries such as Pharma, and have been through multiple acquisitions and integrations. Job Responsibilities
Own the U.S. compliance calendar and direct preparation, review, and filing of federal and state income/franchise returns across a multi-entity footprint. Manage extensions and quarterly estimates, safe harbor/annualization analyses, payments, e-file acceptances, and tax account reconciliations. Lead state and local compliance combined/unitary and separate filings, apportionment, state modifications, attribute tracking, PTE tax elections, and specialty regimes. Monitor nexus and registrations (including PL 86-272 considerations). Lead the ASC 740 quarterly/annual provision with accounting and external advisors; reconcile return to provision and support disclosures. Drive ETR and cash tax optimization. Serve as primary contact for IRS/state notices and audits; coordinate IDR responses and resolve issues to minimize interest/penalties. Build and maintain a Tax Control Framework. Partner with Accounting/FP&A on cash tax forecasting, taxes payable/receivable reconciliations, and working capital. Education & Professional Background
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting/Finance; CPA strongly preferred. 10+ years progressive corporate income/franchise tax experience with a strong U.S. compliance focus; multi-entity, multistate environment. Hands-on experience with consolidated 1120, state combined/unitary filings, SALT management, apportionment, estimated taxes/extensions, and e-filing. Attitude And Demeanor
