This position supports the Vice President of Hale Operations in all facets of branch operations with a primary focus on fiscal management, program development, membership development, and staff development. The incumbent must embrace the Branch/Association Resources matrix management system and demonstrate collaborative behavior between the Branch and Association Resources. Also responsible for articulating the Y’s mission, values, vision, and goals to the branch staff, board members, members, and community. Our Culture

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT Ensures that branch programs and events meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives. Works with Program Directors to establish new program activities, initiatives and program expansion within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans ensuring financial and operational efficiency.

STAFF ENGAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT Recruit, select, employ, evaluate and direct a strong, capable team of staff to deliver innovative high quality/volume programs and member services. Help build and be a key part of high functioning team in a fast-paced work environment.

MEMBERSHIP ENGAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT Builds relationships with and among members, responds to inquiries and solves problems. Creates a safe and supportive community environment, assists in recruiting and engaging new members, and connects members to the YMCA’s mission.

BUDGET & FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Works with Program Directors to plan and manage department budgets as approved in a fiscally responsible manner.

FACILITY MANAGEMENT Works with appropriate branch staff to provide program facilities for members that are safe, clean, adequately equipped, well maintained, and attractive.

VOLUNTEER DEVELOPMENT Oversees the development and support of program and event volunteers. Will provide leadership to a Cause Advisory Board as assigned by Branch Executive.

FINANCIAL DEVELOPMENT Assists in YMCA fund raising activities/events at the Branch and Association level.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT & SUPPORT Engages and builds collaborative relationships with community organizations.

Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university in recreation management, physical education, or related field preferred. 5 to 7 years of operational experience, preferably with a YMCA. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively in a matrix management system. The ability to develop positive, effective working relationships with staff, volunteers and other agencies. Effective coaching and teaching skills. Ability to multi-task various job responsibilities. Schedule flexibility to work some nights and weekends. Seniority level
