You’ll work closely with a diverse team of GIS analysts, developers, database administrators, and business stakeholders to define project goals, align technical requirements, and deliver measurable outcomes. Your leadership will be key in managing timelines, budgets, and risks, while fostering a culture of transparency, agility, and continuous improvement. You’ll also play a strategic role in identifying new opportunities to expand our services, mentoring junior project managers, and contributing to the evolution of our project management practices. Whether you’re facilitating executive updates, overseeing data migration from legacy systems, or collaborating across business units to deliver integrated solutions, your work will have a lasting impact. Responsibilities

Take ownership of multiple projects and ensure delivery of technical solutions that improve data integrity, system performance, and operational efficiency for utility clients. Lead cross-functional teams of GIS analysts, developers, database administrators, and business stakeholders to define goals, align technical requirements, and deliver measurable outcomes. Manage timelines, budgets, risks, and stakeholder communications with transparency and agility. Mentor junior project managers and contribute to evolving project management practices. Facilitate executive updates and collaborate across business units to deliver integrated GIS, data migration, and modernization solutions. Identify opportunities to expand services and foster strong client relationships.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree related field (Master’s preferred). Project management experience, with at least 3 years in GIS, applications development, or data migration projects. Strong oral and written communication skills. Professional level understanding of GIS platforms (e.g., Esri ArcGIS, QGIS), spatial databases, and geospatial data standards. Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex technical projects. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to design project execution plans leveraging SME input and then lead the execution of the established project plan using a variety of team skill levels.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to non-technical and technical audiences. Agile project management experience is a plus. Experience with data models including PODS and ArcGIS Utility Network. Experience working with pipeline engineering teams and understanding pipeline use cases and utility technology system drivers. Project Management Credentials/Certifications Preferred (e.g., Scrum Master, PMP, Six Sigma Black Belt). Ability to mentor staff and guide them to relevant training for short-term project goals and long-term career goals. Involvement in industry groups (AGA, Esri user groups, or other industry organizations). Awareness of technology advancements and potential evolutions impacting the utility space. Experience with service-oriented and cloud computing architecture patterns.

This position pays between $107,000 and $132,00 annually and is an exempt position. Benefits offered include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plan with company match. HSA or FSA medical accounts and FSA dependent care and transportation/parking accounts are also available. These benefits are subject to employee contribution amounts generally set annually. Full-time employees are eligible to earn PTO hours. May be eligible for discretionary bonus as determined by the company.
