Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical components in trucks and heavy equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on fleet vehicles and equipment.
Maintain accurate service records and document repairs in compliance with DOT and OSHA standards.
Order parts and manage inventory of tools and materials needed for repairs.
Assist in scheduling regular service intervals to avoid downtime on job sites.
Collaborate with project teams to prioritize equipment needs and ensure job readiness.
Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant shop environment.
Occasionally support field repairs or on-site diagnostics when needed.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with heavy construction equipment and commercial trucks.
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fuel systems.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and computerized systems.
Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required).
Ability to lift heavy parts and tools and work in varying weather conditions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Certification from a diesel technology program is a plus.
