Overview
Procurement Manager role at Viega LLC. The position is based in Broomfield, CO.
The Procurement Manager is responsible for developing, executing and managing short and long term sourcing strategies for assigned asset(s)/categories; developing and implementing sourcing strategies; performing trend and supply market analyses; managing and developing supplier relationships and performance; creating and evaluating bid proposals and negotiating terms and conditions, contracts and agreements with selected/preferred vendors.
Responsibilities
Establishing strong relationships with internal departmental and executive business stakeholders; building an understanding of strategic business direction, requirements, and priorities across assigned suppliers and/or spend categories.
Provide leadership and guidance to team Buyers and Procurement Specialists on category strategy implementation and issue resolution.
Develop and maintain strategic category database; provide training to team Buyers and Procurement Specialists on category expertise.
Developing global sourcing strategies to deliver against business objectives for internal clients.
Evaluating supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models and benchmarking analysis.
Managing the fundamentals of sourcing and supplier engagement activities including RFx, spend pattern analysis, contract analysis, bid evaluation, negotiations, and supplier consolidation.
Identifying sourcing opportunities by leveraging spend analysis tools and engaging with stakeholders to consolidate requirements across categories, suppliers, and geographies.
Working with business and finance leaders to identify and drive savings and controllership improvements, focusing on total cost of ownership.
Providing guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement strategies.
Preparing and conducting business reviews with stakeholders to review vendor performance, future opportunities, and challenges.
May be required to travel up to 50% of the time.
Category Management
Develop, execute and manage company-wide sourcing strategies for assigned categories.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align sourcing strategies with business objectives.
Collaborate with Supply Chain teams to evaluate and recommend effective sourcing solutions for new products.
Lead source-to-pay process for assigned categories; include scope definition, supplier qualification, bids, negotiations, contract awards, and onboarding.
Track cost savings and continuous improvement initiatives from start to finish, ensuring deliverables meet timelines and specs.
Establish team key performance metrics with Senior Director of Purchasing related to supply chain planning, forecasting, and inventory management.
Vendor Management
Manage vendor performance as part of the Supplier Relationship Management program; monitor and evaluate supplier performance; maintain an adequate supplier base.
Create and maintain positive, long-term supplier relationships; visit suppliers as needed.
Negotiate and execute supply agreements that satisfy commercial and legal requirements with favorable pricing and risk mitigation.
Manage contractual relationships to meet user group needs; ensure material quality and availability; resolve conflicts and pursue continuous improvement.
Act as liaison between supplier and production to facilitate relationships.
Trend Analysis/Forecasting and Reporting
Develop subject matter expertise on global supply and demand dynamics and cost drivers for assigned commodities.
Analyze supply markets to assess trends and anticipate changes; keep internal customers informed of market issues; develop strategies to manage the sourcing cycle.
Perform monthly trend analyses for assigned categories and obtain approvals for exceptional purchase requests.
Coordinate inputs for sales and operations planning and cross-functional forecasting.
Other
Attend meetings as required; perform other duties as assigned.
Participate in cross-functional processes including new product introduction, S&OP, and Viega Fit workshops.
Understand and manage essential transactional functions for buying and material management supporting the category manager.
Special Job Dimensions
Travel up to 25% of the time.

Indirect procurement experience required
SAP experience a plus
MBA a plus
CPM, CPSM, CSCP and/or CPIM certification(s) a plus
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Compensation & Benefits
Total Rewards Package: Base salary $109,000 - $148,000 annually, depending on factors.
Bonus: Eligible for discretionary annual bonus.
