We seek an Assistant Sports Performance Coach to implement evidence-based training programs for assigned teams, focusing on performance optimization and injury reduction, with an emphasis on safety.
Job Description USC Athletics is looking to hire an
Assistant Sports Performance Coach . This role reports to the Director of Olympic Sports Performance and collaborates with sport performance staff, sports science, sports medicine, nutrition, and coaching staff. Responsibilities include implementing sport-specific conditioning, resistance training, speed and agility techniques, and ensuring safety at all times. Additional duties include assisting with the operation of the Sports Performance department and promoting the department’s philosophy and objectives. The position is exempt and requires some evening and weekend work.
Roles and Responsibilities
Implement an evidence-based training program to optimize performance and decrease injury potential, including sport-specific conditioning, resistance training, speed, and agility, with emphasis on safety.
Collaborate with sport science, nutrition, athletic medicine, and coaching staff to identify physical imbalances and injury trends, delivering a comprehensive training program for student-athletes.
Maintain files tracking performance changes throughout a student-athlete’s career at USC; review data with the Director of Sports Performance, coaches, and student-athletes.
Perform other related duties as assigned; USC reserves the right to modify duties as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a field focused on human performance (master’s degree preferred) and minimum 3 years of experience (5 years preferred); combined experience/education may substitute for minimum education.
NCAA- and nationally recognized strength and conditioning certification.
BLS, CPR, and AED certification required.
Experience in Division I baseball preferred.
Experience in higher education or a sports-related field is ideal.
Valid driver’s license; DMV record will be reviewed as part of employment; see USC policies for details.

Salary The annual base salary range is $75,000 – $85,000. Salary offers consider scope and responsibilities, experience, education/training, skills, internal alignment, applicable laws, funding, and market factors.
