Overview
Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for the Associate Dean of Students position in our Office of Academic Affairs. This position is located at ATC’s Main Campus, but will support both Main and South Campuses. Main campus is just south of Downtown Atlanta, and South Campus is in Forest Park, GA. Responsibilities
Coordinates the hiring, training, and supervision of student support personnel. Serves as the college’s point of contact for accessibility issues and oversees compliance efforts. Serves as a formal and informal administrative hearing officer in non-academic conduct cases. Investigates, evaluates, and adjudicates complaints and allegations of violations of the student code of conduct. Prepares charge letters and hearing outcome letters. Tracks compliance with sanctions. Serves as the chairperson of the college’s Behavior Intervention Team and has the potential for supervisory responsibilities for additional student services and accommodation. Provides support, training, and coordination for members of the Behavior Intervention Team, faculty, and staff. Serves as a resource on discipline and student conduct matters for students, faculty, and staff. Participates and provides input in the regular review of the student handbook and policies applying to campus activities, organizations, students, and other policies/procedure related materials. Conducts training sessions regarding the rules of conduct and topics related to students’ discipline, academic honesty, and academic integrity. Assists with outreach, training and educational workshops to campus constituent groups regarding policies, procedures, ethics, and best practices in student conduct and support. Provides input in the development of departmental goals, strategies, operations and procedures. Serves on appropriate college standing and ad hoc committees; recommends faculty and staff assignments to standing and ad hoc committees. Works with the college’s web master to ensure program information on the web page is accurate and up to date. Works with the dean handling personnel issues. Perform additional duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in a related field
AND
Two (2) years of teaching or supervisory experience in a postsecondary institution Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with Banner, SharePoint, and Maxient software Background in advising/counseling students and prior work administering student conduct processes Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, College Student Personnel, Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology Equal Opportunity Employer
