Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, diligent and experienced Education Director with a team-player attitude to lead one of our early learn sites. This role is ideal for a passionate educator with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of NYC DOE, DOH, and Head Start standards. Key Responsibilities
Supervise staff according to NYC DOE, DOH, and Head Start regulations Develop, implement and maintain high-quality education standards throughout the center’s daily operations Coordinate staff schedules to ensure full coverage and efficient operations Guide staff in documenting child behavior and progress for planning and referrals Support staff in understanding the community and the agency’s mission Lead recruitment efforts to increase enrollment Facilitate staff development through conferences, meetings, and classroom observations Maintain professional and productive relationships with staff and families Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s progress and center updates Work with other administrators and employees of the program to complete assignments in a timely manner Act as the onsite liaison with city and regulatory agencies Utilize Microsoft Office, DOE platforms, and Teaching Strategies Gold effectively Qualifications
MS or MA in Early Childhood Education or related field Valid NYS Teacher Certification (N–6 or Birth–2) or equivalent recognized by NYSED Minimum 2 years of group teaching experience with relevant coursework Strong leadership and interpersonal skills Ability to foster professional relationships and maintain a sound educational program Articulate, pleasant, and resourceful demeanor Organized and detail-oriented Benefits
