Postdoctoral Fellow - Neuromotor Systems and Rehabilitation Robotics
We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher motivated to advance knowledge at the intersection of sensorimotor neuroscience, biomechanics, rehabilitation, and robotics, with direct applications to human health and performance. The postdoc will join a collaborative team led by Dr. C.J. Hasson and Dr. Peter Whitney at Northeastern University, who are both core members of the Institute for Experiential Robotics. They will also have an opportunity to collaborate with Prof. Robert Riener at ETH Zürich, a leader in Rehabilitation Robotics. Projects span human subjects research, computational modeling, and robotic technologies. Responsibilities Lead recruitment, experimental data collection, and data analysis for human subjects research. Develop and apply computational models and algorithms to support robotic augmentation studies. Contribute to manuscript preparation and dissemination of findings at conferences and in peer-reviewed journals. Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams across Northeastern and ETH Zürich. Provide mentorship for graduate and undergraduate students. Assist in grant preparation and lab management activities as needed. Required Qualifications Ph.D. in neuroscience, biomedical/mechanical engineering, kinesiology, robotics, rehabilitation science, or a related field. Demonstrated experience in human subjects research. Proficiency in signal processing and data analysis for human movement or physiological data. Strong programming skills in MATLAB and C++. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a record of scientific publications. Preferred Qualifications Experience with computational modeling of movement or motor control. Experience in Linux-based environments. Experience mentoring students and contributing to grant proposals. Some experience in fabrication (e.g., 3D printing). Northeastern University considers factors such as candidate work experience, education, and skills when extending an offer. Northeastern has a comprehensive benefits package for benefit-eligible employees.
