La Colombe Coffee Workshop The Cafe Manager builds a healthy business and culture within their cafes. Ensures the operational needs of the cafe are met, while supporting and providing leadership to the cafe team. Works in a fast-paced café environment and can effectively work under pressure. The role involves developing a team of baristas to provide the exceptional customer service and quality coffee experience that La Colombe is known for. The Cafe Manager demonstrates responsibility, quality, ethics, and integrity.
Responsibilities
PEOPLE & CULTURE: Build a team and maintain engagement by providing an excellent employee experience. Communicate proactively and professionally with the team and guests. Follow up consistently to build trust. Demonstrate compassion and care in team relationships while setting clear expectations and accountabilities. Confront, diffuse and resolve difficult situations proactively and with solutions. Coach the team to meet standards, perform well and treat one another respectfully.
BEVERAGE QUALITY: Ensure teams consistently meet drink standards and serve beverages in a timely manner. Coach baristas to improve drink preparation skills. Collaborate with Cafe Managers, Lead Baristas, and Technical Department for quality control from a technical perspective (brewing devices, water quality, TDS, etc.). Schedule regular cuppings to promote coffee knowledge. Work with market trainers to ensure employees are bar trained to La Colombe beverage standards.
HEALTH & SAFETY: Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times. Report and address safety, harassment, injuries or any issues promptly. Complete Monthly Health Inspection Checklist and maintain food service manager health certificate. Create checklists to ensure cafe maintenance and wellbeing.
HOSPITALITY: Cultivate a hospitality-focused environment. Educate baristas on La Colombe's mission and culture, and the story of our coffees. Build relationships with guests, communicate warmly, and deliver timely, professional and knowledgeable service to exceed guest expectations.
BUSINESS MANAGEMENT: Refine the La Colombe cafe experience through strategy and business development, including relationships with local organizations, product display and rollout tasks. Develop and maintain an efficient labor schedule, complete payroll and admin tasks accurately and on time. Manage daily cash, POS, submit sales data to HQ, and review weekly sales with the management team. Control costs and drive sales growth.
Requirements
Food Service: 3 years of food service experience
Years in Mgmt: 2 years minimum
People skills: Proactive, professional, and positive in dealing with the public and team
Ownership: Takes initiative and drives business with care and pride
