Provide direct supervision to a team of Decision Scientists and Decision Science Leads for an assigned business group. Using an interdisciplinary approach of leveraging concepts from business, applied statistics and math, operations research, information technology, process design and behavioral sciences, the incumbent will lead a team of Decision Scientists and partner with the Line of Business (LOB) to produce analytic insights that help the business make informed, data-driven decisions with an objective of driving quantifiable, optimized business results in support of company goals. Responsibilities
Provide direct supervision to a team of Decision Scientists and Decision Science Leads for the assigned business group. Lead talent acquisition, coaching, and organization of decision science professionals with technical and business-process understanding, driving excellence for business optimization and impact. Drive integration of team culture, align analysis with strategic focus, and ensure deliverables are timely, accurate, and repeatable. Foster communication and partnership across organizational levels, including senior leadership and executive stakeholders; steward relationships and deliver on LOB and company goals. Pursue business outcomes valued through increased revenue and/or efficiency using data-driven insights to support enhanced decision-making and continuous improvement in delivery and outcomes. Drive decision science projects using quantitative techniques, including machine learning, to achieve business optimization and impact. Represent the assigned business group in forums and work streams; collaborate with partner analytics teams to drive efficient delivery against shared objectives. Exercise sound judgment and risk management while fostering a client-centric culture in design, development, and deployment practices. Maintain and apply Financial Services domain experience as needed. Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Combination of academic aptitude, quantitative skills, business acumen, and working knowledge of transaction processing software, processing systems, and inventory systems; strong written and verbal communication skills. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and related training or experience, plus 10+ years of experience in Banking, Finance, Decision/Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or Engineering. 7+ years of analytics management experience with diverse projects and demonstrated results. Ability to lead people in a cross-functional, collaborative environment and to support partners with enhanced insights. Ability to engage and manage diverse internal partners, product sets, and projects, linking insights to execution and business impact. Innovative and strategic thinker with the ability to translate insights into practical applications and drive initiatives with measurable business impact. Experience managing multiple projects with tight deadlines, coordinating resources to maximize impact. Strong competency in statistical and analytical principles, tools, and techniques; ability to champion emerging decision science techniques and train teammates. Understanding of database environments (IBM DB2, Oracle); programming skills (SAS, SQL, Toad); exposure to data science tools (R, Python, SAS E-Miner); experience with data visualization/BI tools (Tableau, MicroStrategy); proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Preferred Qualifications: Master’s or PhD in a quantitative field such as Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or Engineering. 15+ years of experience in Banking, Finance, Decision/Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or Engineering.
