Overview
Kamco Supply Corp of Boston, a family-owned and operated building materials company with branches throughout New England, is seeking a Fleet & Safety Manager to join our team. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing fleet operations and safety compliance across multiple states. Fleet Management Oversee operations of a diverse fleet, including passenger vehicles, Class A trucks, forklifts, Moffetts, and ABL equipment. Manage vehicle registration, IRP, IFTA reporting, and multi-state permitting. Develop and manage annual fleet replacement budgets. Maintain compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and insurance regulations. Administer EZ Pass transponder systems and truck-mounted camera systems. Monitor fleet performance and implement cost-saving strategies. Safety Management Lead safety training programs and weekly sessions across all branches. Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and industry-specific safety regulations. Conduct accident investigations and root cause analyses. Develop and implement safety policies and procedures. Serve as a public-facing safety leader for internal and external training. Travel to job sites and branches across New England as needed (including early mornings and occasional overnights). Qualifications
Experience Minimum 3-5 years in fleet management and safety leadership roles. Proven experience managing multi-state operations and compliance. Technical Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint). Familiarity with fleet management software (e.g., Samsara, Geotab, Fleetio) is a plus. Experience with camera systems, telematics, and GPS tracking tools. Certifications (but not required) OSHA 10/30 Certification Certified Director of Safety (CDS) or equivalent CDL (Commercial Driver's License) Forklift and Moffett Trainer Certification Competent Person in Fall Protection Soft Skills Strong leadership and team-building abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments Other Requirements Willingness to travel throughout New England Flexible schedule to accommodate early morning meetings and site visits Valid driver\'s license and clean driving record Must be able to pass a Pre-employment Background Check and Physical, including a Drug Test.
