Summary/Job Brief
The SAP SD Consultant is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of the SAP Sales and Distribution module. This role involves collaborating with business stakeholders to analyze and understand their business processes and requirements, and then translating those requirements into a functional and technical design within the SAP system. The consultant will be a key player in project life cycles, from initial blueprinting to go-live and post-implementation support.
Key Responsibilities: Business Process Analysis & Requirements Gathering: Work closely with business users and stakeholders to analyze complex sales and distribution business processes. Identify and document business requirements, gaps, and issues. Facilitate workshops to collect and validate requirements.
SAP SD Configuration & Implementation: Design, configure, and customize the SAP SD module to meet business needs. Configure key functionalities, including sales order processing, pricing, billing, shipping, and credit management. Set up master data, such as customer and material master data. Configure and manage pricing procedures, condition types, and access sequences.
Integration & Collaboration: Ensure seamless integration of the SD module with other SAP modules, such as Materials Management (MM), Financial Accounting (FI), and Production Planning (PP). Collaborate with other functional and technical teams (e.g., ABAP developers) to ensure a cohesive system and successful project delivery.
Testing & Troubleshooting: Develop and execute test cases for unit testing, system integration testing (SIT), and user acceptance testing (UAT). Analyze and resolve software problems and system issues, acting as a liaison with the client for troubleshooting. Perform system upgrades and enhancements to improve functionalities.
Support & Documentation: Provide ongoing support to end-users for SAP SD-related queries and issues. Create and maintain detailed documentation, including functional designs, configuration guides, and user manuals. Conduct training sessions and workshops for end-users to ensure they are proficient in the SAP system.
Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify and propose business process and system enhancements. Stay up-to-date with the latest SAP advancements, best practices, and industry trends.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience : Proven experience as an SAP SD Consultant, with hands-on experience in at least one full-cycle SAP implementation.
Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of the SAP SD module and its functionalities. Proficiency in key SD components, including Sales Order Management, Pricing, Billing, Shipping & Logistics Execution, and Credit Management. Strong understanding of integration points with other SAP modules (FI, MM). Basic knowledge of ABAP debugging is a plus.
Professional Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders and document solutions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and a meticulous approach to configuration and documentation. Effective time management and the ability to handle multiple deliverables simultaneously.
