Overview
Associate Academic Dean
The Associate Academic Dean aids the Academic Dean in supervision of students and faculty to promote academic achievement, student retention, and student satisfaction with established education objectives, quality of standards, and fiscal responsibility. Serve as the Director on Duty for all scheduled evening class sessions. All Concorde associates are required to display professionalism and uphold Concorde's Mission and the core values of respect for the individual, integrity, teamwork, customer service, and achievement.

Responsibilities Principal Accountabilities & Deliverables
Student Services Management
Meet with students, either individually or as a group, to discuss issues pertinent to student life
Advise students as needed regarding personal or classroom issues including, but not limited to attitude, appearance, grades, or attendance
Liaison with professional services and organizations in the community to support student needs
Develop and instruct seminars that teach learning styles, note-taking, and test-taking strategies as well as methods of dealing with test anxiety and stress
Coordinate retention and tutoring programs. Assist in the development of such programs
Participate in new student orientation
Assist with award and graduation ceremonies
Attend seminars and workshops that assist in the development of retention strategies
Facilitate communication with service organizations in the community
Maintain student services information boards
Maintain ATB log. Monitor and advise ATB students as required
Maintain student complaint and suggestion file. Serve a liaison in addressing issues for students
Faculty Management and Development
Associate Academic Dean has the authority to counsel instructors/faculty members and make recommendations as to the termination, promotion, or other changes of status of the instructors/faculty members they supervise with approval from their immediate supervisor
Be available during all scheduled evening class sessions to supervise all evening faculty
Assist in the interviewing process of instructors
Provide training and mentorship opportunities for instructors as assigned
Assist with students end-of-term surveys and provide analysis of surveys to instructors, Program Directors, and Academic Dean
Conduct teacher observation and evaluations for instructors as assigned. Maintain documentation of observations, evaluations, and conferences with instructors
Provide input to performance reviews and assist with performance counseling as required
Monitor classes with sufficient frequency to assure all standards are being met regarding instruction, equipment, and curriculum
Assist with in-service workshops for instructors
Administrative Duties
Assist in the scheduling of all classes, instructor schedules, and room usage by term
Assist in the monitoring of student progress, daily attendance, academic records, transcripts, and accurate inputting of information into CLASS by the Registrar
Assist the Program Directors and Academic Dean in ordering of classroom supplies and textbooks, and the stocking of those supplies upon receipt
Check and coordinate use of all audio-visual aids, library materials, teaching models, and equipment as needed for evening classes
Assist Academic Dean and Campus Director with the coordination of equipment repair and maintenance, disposal of biohazard material, paper recycle, and building repair and maintenance
Assist with processing of change of status and student advising forms
Assist with proctoring of prospective students\' entrance exams on a regularly scheduled basis
Attend all director meetings, advisory board meetings, and faculty and academic staff meetings. Conduct faculty meetings for evening instructors as assigned
The Academic Dean or Campus Director may assign any other such duties as required
Additional
Establish/maintain a high performance team of professional, motivated and engaged staff utilizing effective training, performance management and career-development activities while leading them to achieve established business results and performance metrics

Qualifications Education / Experience
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree strongly preferred
Minimum of 3-4 years of management experience required
Academic proprietary management experience preferred
Instructor experience preferred
