Overview

The Ohio State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in theoretical or experimental Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics (AMOP). The appointment is at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, starting Autumn 2026. AMOP at OSU is an interdisciplinary program with facilities such as NeXUS and Scarlet. We seek candidates who complement and enhance existing AMOP competencies and contribute to ongoing OSU efforts as a major hub in AMO science for the future. Responsibilities

foster cross-disciplinary research with sustained impact; develop and maintain an extramurally funded research program; have a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring; and contribute to the teaching (graduate and undergraduate) and service missions of the University. Education And Experience

Required:

Candidates must hold a PhD in Physics or a closely related field. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to building a welcoming intellectual community, in line with OSU’s Shared Values. Desired:
