Role Summary

The Safety Specialist 2 will coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine and increasingly complex construction projects. This position will be responsible for conducting safety inspections, identifying and documenting abatement of hazardous conditions, writing reports, and performing trend analysis. All activities will support the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn. Key Role Responsibilities - Core

SAFETY SPECIALIST FAMILY - CORE Coordinates and implements the field safety program for routine construction projects. Conducts regular walk-through inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with laws and Company policies. Conducts safety audits on assigned projects by identifying, documenting, and recommending abatement of hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions to internal and external clients. Utilizes internal safety management systems to document findings and track abatement techniques and closure. Conducts project-specific new hire orientation and oversees drug and alcohol policy compliance. Monitors the implementation of prime contractor and/or subcontractors' safety programs. Attends project pre-planning, progress, and other relevant project-related meetings to discuss safety-related matters. Supports field leadership in the implementation of the safety program specifics, such as meetings, committees, and related activities, as well as chairing the project safety committee. Assists in the investigation of project-related accidents, conferring with supervisors to determine root causes and discuss recommendations for process improvements. Coordinates with injured employees and clinics to ensure timely treatment and return to work, and compiles injury progress reports. Monitors site safety incentive program. SAFETY SPECIALIST 2 Possesses a higher level of safety knowledge to identify complex safety issues and provide advanced abatement solutions. Utilizes extensive knowledge of equipment, laws, and work processes to provide project-specific safety recommendations. Contributes to communication efforts and actively participates in meetings. Uses safety management systems and tools for trend analysis to identify safety trends and recommend mitigations. Provides guidance and training on safety topics for team members. Assists during insurance audits and oversees more complex projects, including large or multiple projects. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to perform work accurately, completely, and timely. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office and safety software. Knowledge of safety regulations and ability to enforce them. Ability to recognize hazards and implement corrective measures. Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively. Education

Bachelor's degree in a safety and health-related field (preferred). Equivalent relevant experience considered in lieu of degree. Experience

Minimum 2 years of construction safety experience. Working Environment

click here . Base salary for the Safety Specialist 2 role in California ranges from $98,000 to $122,000, depending on experience, with potential for higher compensation for exceptional candidates.
