Senior Project Manager opportunity in Milwaukee, WI with kW Mission Critical Engineering, a WSP company. As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead a diverse group of engineers from project initiation through completion with minimal oversight, including regular communications with clients, managing proposals and budgets, drafting change orders, invoicing, and project closeout.

Responsibilities

Lead multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, designers and staff through completion of multiple simultaneous projects with varying scopes and complexities.

Independently prepare project work plans, proposals, schedules, and obtain management/client approvals.

Lead regular communications with clients regarding project status and quality; proactively resolve issues.

Manage relationships with project stakeholders, including clients, vendors, regulatory authorities, technical agencies, and the public; keep stakeholders informed to manage expectations and meet project requirements and schedule.

Address change management matters promptly with clients and internal departments.

Maintain awareness of project budget, KPIs, and forecasting.

Lead and manage business development initiatives including RFQs and RFPs.

Develop a comprehensive scope of work and prepare accurate fee estimates for management approvals.

Provide mentoring and leadership to team members and junior project managers.

Provide administrative and technical leadership and maintain project records and correspondence.

Schedule and facilitate project meetings to coordinate work activities.

Administer subconsultant agreements; possess thorough knowledge of company contracts and involved parties.

Implement and manage the kW Quality Control Plan for each project.

Track and report workload management throughout the project.

Manage client and subconsultant invoicing.

Who You Are / Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.

7+ years of experience in Project and/or Program Management on large engineering and/or construction projects.

Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams; ability to manage issues, scope, and quality while delivering within cost and schedule constraints.

Exceptional written and oral communication skills; experience presenting to senior management.

Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with people from diverse disciplines and technical backgrounds.

Clear, concise, and tactful communication with senior management, clients, peers and staff.

Strategic, analytical thinking and decision-making skills.

Adaptability and flexibility, including ability to manage deadlines, ambiguity, and change.

Experience negotiating contract terms.

Proficiency with MS Office and project management software tools.

Detail oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Familiarity with reading drawings and specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Experience in an engineering consulting environment.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or project management.

Experience in project planning, cost management and schedule management with KPI reporting.
