Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our team in the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization supporting the Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit to support a Ground program. The program is seeking a Software Engineer to support the Processing Team in development of tasking and scheduling software. The successful candidate will be on an Agile team supporting two programs with a singular baseline. The work is full-time in the office, with two-week sprints for 3-month increment deliveries. The qualified candidate must have and be able to maintain a DoD clearance. As a Software Engineer, you will design, develop, document, refactor, test, and debug applications software for a Ground Segment. You will support the program through maturity and milestones to achieve the mission. Development is done within the Agile paradigm using the Atlassian tool suite. The work is onsite. The candidate will operate independently with little oversight in a dynamic environment and collaborate with leads and the customer. You will handle diverse assignments, find unique solutions, and work in a fast-paced environment that continues to grow. Position Details
This position can be filled at either a Level 3 or Level 4, depending on the candidate’s experience as detailed in the basic qualifications. This role requires being onsite at one of these locations: Morrisville, NC; Fairfax, VA; or Linthicum, MD. Compensation varies by location. This position requires a DoD clearance and the ability to work on a ground program. Basic Qualifications
Active/current U.S. Government DoD Top Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information access [TS/SCI] at time of application (U.S. Citizenship required) Experience level for Level 3 (Principal): 5 years with a bachelor’s degree; 3 years with a master’s degree; 1 year with a PhD; 7 years with an associate’s degree; 9 years in lieu of a degree (high school diploma or equivalent) Experience level for Level 4 (Sr Principal): 8 years with a bachelor’s degree; 6 years with a master’s degree; 4 years with a PhD; 10 years with an associate’s degree; 12 years in lieu of a degree (high school diploma or equivalent) Front-end GUI design and implementation experience Strong Java experience Web frameworks: React, Vue Experience working with a geographically distributed team Preferred Qualifications
STEM degree Proficient with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) Proficient with Node.js framework Familiar with Keycloak Agile development methodologies Software design and software unit testing Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, microservice architecture, and object-oriented design Understanding of software testing principles and methodologies Work Schedule and Benefits
