Los Angeles Area - onsite 3 days a week. We are seeking a skilled
Firmware Engineer
to design, develop, and qualify firmware for a new generation of active medical implants. The ideal candidate will leverage strong engineering and scientific principles to address technical challenges across the entire product development lifecycle. Responsibilities
Firmware Development:
Design and implement robust, reliable firmware solutions. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with hardware and software engineering teams to establish firmware requirements and assist with hardware bring-up and debugging. Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:
Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues during development and post-launch. Process Improvement:
Develop new tools, methods, and processes to enhance engineering efficiency and productivity. Documentation & Training:
Create comprehensive code documentation and provide training to end-users and support teams. Quality Assurance:
Participate in a rigorous peer review process, offering and receiving constructive feedback to ensure the highest standards of code quality. Project Management:
Collaborate with all departments, including quality, regulatory, and manufacturing, to ensure product milestones are met on time. Requirements
5-10+ years of experience with firmware development and test systems Embedded C/C++ on bare-metal platforms Experience with ARM Cortex (Cortex-M preferred) Experience with an RTOS such as FreeRTOS or Micrium Experience working in a regulated environment Seniority level
