Overview

Our Client, a Retail Pharmacy company, is looking for a Cyber Security specialist for their Deerfield, IL/ Chicago, IL/Remote location. Responsibilities

Validate penetration testing results to ensure accuracy, reproducibility, and actionable business impact. Contribute to red team and purple team backlogs with new attack, detection, and testing ideas. Support initial phases of red team campaigns, including reconnaissance, scoping, and infrastructure setup. Collaborate with blue team counterparts to improve detection, monitoring, and incident response. Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and adversary TTPs to inform testing approaches. Document methodologies, findings, and lessons learned for internal knowledge sharing. Assist senior operators during red team campaigns and gradually take on more independent testing tasks. Requirements

2-5 years of Penetration Testing Experience – Solid background in network, web application, or cloud penetration testing. Red Team Support – Exposure to adversary simulation techniques, with willingness to grow deeper in areas like C2 frameworks (e.g., Cobalt Strike, Sliver, Metasploit). Cloud Security Knowledge – Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP testing (IAM, misconfigurations, privilege escalation). Scripting & Automation – Ability to use Python, PowerShell, or Bash to support testing and validation tasks. Application Security – Understanding of OWASP Top 10, API security, and common web attack techniques. Privilege Escalation & AD Attacks – Working knowledge of Active Directory attacks and post-exploitation steps. Threat Intelligence Awareness – Ability to apply MITRE ATT&CK or similar frameworks to align testing with real-world threats. Communication Skills – Strong report writing and ability to explain technical risks to both technical and non-technical audiences. Collaboration – Experience working with security engineers, detection teams, or incident responders to validate findings. Why Should You Apply?
