Overview
Arista Networks is seeking a Pre-Sales Network Systems Engineer to partner with Account teams and provide pre-sales technical systems engineering support for enterprise customers in the Minneapolis area. You will collaborate with Product Management, Software Development, and the Arista TAC to guide product developments and solutions that serve customers and prospects. When you join Arista as part of the Sales Engineering team, you will be part of a team of industry experts and technical leaders, typically reporting to the Regional Engineering Manager. You will lead and innovate within the industry, supported by proof-of-concept resources and executive backing. What You’ll Do
Collaborate with Arista Account Managers to gain deep understanding of enterprise clients and conduct whiteboard network architectural reviews to identify improvements in network performance and efficiency. Conduct Arista product presentations of Open Networking Data Center and Cognitive Campus networking solutions, CloudVision (Network Automation), Security (Network Detection), Endpoint Security, and Real-time Fabric Monitoring. Own the pre-sales and post-sales technical relationship with assigned customers and channel partners. Build and maintain deep knowledge of Arista technologies to support and enable channel partner engineers and customers’ engineers and architects. Execute technical Quarterly Business Reviews with the customer base. Provide on-site support at customer sites as required. Facilitate technical training on Arista’s products, differentiators, solutions, and demos. Architect, design, and propose Arista Data Center & Campus network solutions using leaf-spine architectures (VxLAN, EVPN) and network overlays to capture additional sales. Perform hands-on testing to validate customer proof-of-concept setups, Data Center and/or Campus network designs, and deployments using new products and features. Develop design guidelines and recommend improvements to customers for the networks they support. Partner with the Sales Team to respond to RFPs/RFQs. Author feature requests and business justifications; provide feedback to Product Management, Hardware Development, and Software Development teams. Represent Arista at industry events and conferences, including potential speaking roles. Present technical content to global organizations both virtually and in-person. Create technical marketing materials for the global Arista organization; author white papers on technology and product. Travel expectations are approximately 15-30%. Qualifications
BS/CS/CE or related technical degree required; MBA/MS a strong plus. Network industry certification preferred (e.g., CCIE (R&S), JNCIE, ACE-5,6,7). Minimum 5+ years of L2/L3 networking design and implementation experience with focus on Data Center, Campus, and WIFI solutions. Strong presentation and selling skills with ability to communicate complex technical material. Ability to build successful relationships between an equipment manufacturer and a customer base of executives, architects, engineers, and operations teams. Good interpersonal and problem-management skills with the ability to stay calm under pressure and meet deadlines. Experience creating technical material (slides, white papers, battle cards, solution guides, etc.). Recent experience in leaf-spine architecture design. Experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales SE or Network Consulting Engineer preferred. Expert knowledge in Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, eBGP, VxLAN, EVPN, Multicast, Spanning Tree, QoS. Expert level knowledge of industry-standard CLI. Experience building network automation using Python and Ansible is highly desired. Strong writing skills to create informative white papers on technology and products is highly desired. Local/Regional candidates preferred. Additional Information
The new hire base pay for this role has a salary range of $117,000 to $175,000. Arista offers different pay ranges based on work location and other factors. Base pay may be complemented by discretionary bonuses and equity. Employees in Sales roles may participate in Arista’s Sales Incentive Plan, with commissions based on eligible sales. US-based employees are eligible for medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, tax savings and income protection benefits. The recruiting team can share more details during the hiring process.
