Description: Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Configuration and Data Management subject matter expert (Level 4) to support the F-35 program. The position is located on site in Redondo Beach, CA.

Responsibilities

Provide guidance to team of 10-12 people in the Configuration and Data Management (CDM) Team

Work closely with CDM manager to assess/address team training needs

Responsible for plans and coordinates preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met

Reviews contract to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes and coordinates modification records for management control

Establishes change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor. Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities

Ensure that CDM team executes all requirements in the program Configuration Management Plan

Oversee Configuration Management and Data Management (CDM) activities, update and maintain Program CDM processes and plans, establish configuration-controlled baselines, maintain program Configuration Identification, Change Control, Status Accounting and Contract Deliverables throughout the product lifecycle as well as fulfilling existing CDM program processes and plans in accordance with NGAS sector processes and our customer statement of work.

Coordinate with the program IPT Leads, Program Manager, Chief Engineer, and software development lead to ensure products are generated, managed, reviewed, approved and released using sector approved processes, tools and analysis products.

Customer Interface for all configuration management and data management issues

Work with suppliers to resolve configuration management and data management issues

Provide visibility to program leadership for all SDRL and CDRL deliverables from the suppliers and to the customer

Interface with the Project Engineering, Master Planning Integration, and Proposal Management teams to ensure they are meeting all Configuration and Data Management requirements

Provide audit and training for all F-35 teams to ensure that they are meeting all Configuration Management requirements and be able to present the findings to Program Management

Air System Integration focal point for all external customer audits

Develop and maintain CDM Knowledge Management database

Lead Minor Change Board for design authority suppliers

Travel may be required up to 25%.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university with at least 8 years of experience or a Master’s degree with at least 6 years of experience or an additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.

Expert knowledge in Configuration and Data Management.

Familiarity with EIA-649.

Working knowledge of hardware & software configuration control and defect tracking systems.

Experience leading team through a configuration audit and conducting audit preparation.

Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Must have ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidate has an existing Secret clearance or above

NDIA certification in Configuration and Data Management

DAU training in Configuration Management

Primary Level Salary Range: $113,500.00 - $170,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
