The Senior Business Intelligence Developer will lead the hands-on development of Power BI reports, dashboards, and SQL queries to support data-driven decision-making. This role focuses on building clear, user-focused visualizations and ensuring data accuracy, performance, and compliance. The developer will work across the full BI lifecycle, collaborate with stakeholders, and support technical improvement efforts. Responsibilities
Work closely with cross-functional teams and vendors to translate business needs into aligned, integrated BI solutions Design, develop, and maintain intuitive Power BI dashboards and reports for operational and analytical use Optimize data models and T-SQL queries to ensure speed, accuracy, and scalability Troubleshoot reporting issues and provide ongoing technical support Lead training to support adoption of BI tools Identify and recommend new BI tools, features, or enhancements to improve the overall analytics environment Ensure data governance, accuracy, and compliance Perform ad hoc queries and deliver clear reporting insights Participate in Agile delivery using Azure DevOps (ADO), including documentation, sprint planning, and story estimation Support and lead user acceptance testing (UAT) efforts Mentor junior BI team members when needed Stay current with BI trends, tools, and best practices Build domain knowledge of business operations and goals Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations Requirements
Degree in related field 5+ years: MS SQL Server (2014+), Standard and Enterprise editions 4+ years: Hands-on Power BI experience, including report creation, M Query, DAX, and data modeling Advanced data storytelling and UI/UX design skills for reporting Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint ServiceNow for request and incident tracking SQL Server programming and the Microsoft BI suite Clear communication skills; able to explain technical decisions to business users Demonstrated ability to mentor others and lead projects Strong collaboration skills and communication effectively with stakeholders Seniority level
