Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field. 7+ years of IT experience, with 4+ years in networking and telecom. Hands-on experience with network hardware components (routers, firewalls, VPN, etc.). Strong understanding of TCP/IP and related networking protocols. Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure). Experience with security measures, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems. Proficient level UNIX computer skills; Basic scripting: Perl, Python, Shell. Experience with public cloud environments such as Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure. Professional industry certifications in area of expertise (e.g., CCNP, CCDP, AWS, Azure). Traffic engineering mechanisms/techniques and state-of-the-art applications; BGP, OSPF, Policy Based Routing, L2/L3 VPN, QoS, SSL VPNs, Client 802.1x. Linux experience with Suse, RedHat or CentOS. Experience with tools like SolarWinds, PuTTY, MRTG, NetFlow, Wireshark. Familiarity with Next Generation firewalls, specifically Palo Alto and Cisco ASA. Experience with integration of SIEM tools. Knowledge of Best Practices and security guides (e.g., NIST 800-53 rev 4).
