Job Description
The Senior Microsoft 365 Administrator will serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert responsible for overseeing the architecture, implementation, and ongoing optimization of our client's Microsoft 365 environment. This strategic role will support major modernization initiatives, lead platform upgrades, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable solutions across Microsoft Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and associated services. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking technologist with deep expertise in Microsoft 365, experience driving enterprise-level projects, and a passion for maximizing the value of cloud collaboration tools to support evolving business needs. Key Responsibilities
Lead and drive Microsoft 365 upgrades, migrations, and platform modernization efforts. Architect, configure, and maintain secure and resilient Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and the M365 Admin Center. Own and implement best practices around identity, access, and compliance policies using Conditional Access, DLP, Sensitivity Labels, and Defender for Office 365. Act as a technical lead for M365-related projects, working closely with internal IT, Security, and business stakeholders. Manage tenant-level configurations, including hybrid integrations and licensing strategies. Proactively monitor system health, usage metrics, and security compliance via tools like PowerShell, Graph API, and Security & Compliance Center dashboards. Develop and enforce governance standards, documentation, and disaster recovery procedures. Mentor junior team members and provide advanced support and escalation on complex issues. Evaluate emerging M365 technologies and make recommendations for adoption aligned with strategic goals. Provide end-user guidance and training on new capabilities to promote adoption and productivity. Required Skills & Experience
6+ years of hands-on administration and engineering experience with Microsoft 365 in an enterprise setting Experience M365 implementations, upgrades, or major configuration projects 5+ years of experience with Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Azure AD, and security & compliance features 5+ years with advanced experience with Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate). Strong PowerShell scripting experience Has used or worked on Graph API Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Microsoft Certifications (e.g., MS-100, MS-101, SC-300, or equivalent). SharePoint 2013+ administration and customization experience. Familiarity with Defender for O365, Conditional Access Policies, Sensitivity Labels, and DLP. Experience with security auditing, tenant hardening, and compliance configuration.
