The talented Architect and Engineering department at Forest Lawn – Glendale is searching for an addition to the team of a Drafter 1. This role is responsible for providing CAD expertise in support of department projects. Create architectural and engineering designs, drawings, and other technical information for use in manufacturing, construction, and fabrication. Including creating traditional designs from preliminary sketches, verifying that drawings meet required specifications, and creating technical documents and reports.
What You'll Be Doing
AutoCAD
Sheet set-up, scaling, dimensioning, information layering, Xreference, sections, elevations, and drawing presentation.
Draw execution.
Scan drawings and documents.
Use Excel, Power Point and 3-D rendering software.
Successfully trouble-shoot most PC and plotter problems.
Drawing – Under general supervision, identify and organize drawing sheets/ project sets.
Determine drawing elements needed for each design, and produce required plans, sections, elevations, and details.
Check drawings for accuracy and completeness.
Coordinate drawings prepared by outside consultants and incorporate drawings into a complete project set. Assist with survey party as required.
Design – Under general supervision, accurately prepare project drawings sets.
Have knowledge of civil design, including grading plan composition and quantity take-off.
Prepare sales maps, file maps, and process property reservations and releases.
Prepare basic hydrology investigation and pipe sizing, SWPPP BMP application(s), legal description files and dedication maps; and/or basic architectural design including creating plans, profiles, sections, details, alternate design schemes, presentation drawings and inscriptions.
Additional Responsibilities – Work as part of a team and independently when needed.
Assist with layout of family specific memorials and inscriptions under general supervision.
Requirements
Ability to work in a hybrid setting, being on-site on Tuesdays and Thursdays and for other required meetings during the week.
High School Diploma or GED required.
2 years of AutoCAD technical school.
5 years of full-time AutoCAD work experience or equivalent. Revit and Sketch-up experience preferred.
