Database Administrator

contract
with a client in
Secaucus, NJ . Candidates must have strong experience as a DB2 Database Administrator on z/OS with deep knowledge of DB2 internals and data sharing in a Parallel Sysplex environment. Rate Range:
$49/hour to 64/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Database Administrator Job Responsibilities Include
Install, configure, and maintain DB2 on z/OS, including support for DB2 Data Sharing in a Parallel Sysplex environment. Perform systems and application performance tuning, capacity planning, and access path analysis using advanced SQL techniques. Manage disaster recovery planning and execution, ensuring database availability and resilience. Interface with security systems and OEM vendor tools, ensuring secure and compliant DB2 operations. Support DB2 tool installations and customizations using SMPE and UserMods and troubleshoot complex system issues. Design logical and physical databases and utilize DB2 monitoring tools to maintain optimal performance. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related technical field. Minimum 7–10 years of experience as a DB2 Database Administrator on z/OS. Strong proficiency in DB2 internals, data sharing in Parallel Sysplex, and performance tuning. Hands-on experience with disaster recovery planning, OEM tool integration, and advanced SQL tuning for application performance.
