Providence The Senior Principal Security Engineer on the Risk Advisory team within the Cybersecurity Governance, Risk, Attack Surface and Compliance (GRAC) team is a strategic and technical leader responsible for leading and driving enterprise-wide security risk management and cybersecurity engineering initiatives. This role blends deep expertise in risk analysis/management with advanced security engineering capabilities to proactively protect organizational assets, ensure regulatory compliance, and enable secure innovation across platforms and services. Enterprise accountabilities include leading and conducting comprehensive security risk assessments, third-party product evaluations to identify vulnerabilities and assess the impacts of various risks in order to evaluate the organization’s risk posture in alignment with organizational policies, controls, business objectives and relevant regulatory and compliance requirements. This leadership role also manages and monitors risk exceptions and issues, collaborates across a variety of IS teams and executive leaders to communicate risks and their impacts, identify and define mitigation strategies aimed at reducing Providence’s overall risk exposure, provide mentorship to risk management teammates, and foster and support risk education and awareness. Serving as a thought leader who has a bias towards action in identifying and implementing various processes and technologies, this role helps develop, automate, and identify standards and best practices while promoting their implementation within Information Services, and championing the Cyber Risk Advisory roadmap and vision. Locations: Santa Rosa, California Irvine, California Seattle, Washington Renton, Washington Redmond, Washington Olympia, Washington Spokane, Washington Lubbock, Texas Plainview, Texas Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering -OR- a combination of equivalent education and experience Upon hire: CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent 10 or more years of related experience Experience performing in an Incident Commander role for cyber incidents and issues affecting business operations across the environment and drive resolution of those issues. In depth experience designing security controls and countermeasures for operating systems, databases, applications, Web services, user devices, and wireless networks.
