We’re hiring a full-time, remote
Inspecting Engineer or Architect
with a background in Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management. This role involves conducting property condition assessments on multifamily and commercial properties nationwide. We are especially interested in candidates located in or near
Frederick, Baltimore, or Washington, DC , but we welcome applicants with PCA experience from any major metropolitan area. What You’ll Do
Travel nationwide to perform visual building inspections of multifamily properties. Interview on-site personnel about maintenance history and building system performance. Draft clear, detailed narrative reports outlining conditions, deficiencies, life cycle projections, and cost estimates. Collaborate with clients and internal teams to identify solutions during the due diligence process. Prepare reports using platforms like
Quire
(experience preferred). Deliver excellent client service through timely, professional communication and follow-up. Produce high-quality documentation, including figures and appendices. Keep project stakeholders informed on progress and deliverables. What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree
in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Structural), Architecture, Construction Management, Historic Preservation, or related field. 3+ years
of professional experience in engineering, architecture, or construction. Direct experience evaluating multifamily properties and familiarity with
ASTM E2018 standards . Strong knowledge of construction practices, building systems, materials, and codes. Willingness and ability to travel
1–2 days per week
(travel expenses fully reimbursed). Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines. Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with
Fannie Mae
and
Freddie Mac
scopes of work. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with
Quire
report-writing software. Knowledge of federal, state, and local building codes. Physical Requirements
Capable of navigating job sites, climbing stairs/ladders, and inspecting mechanical/construction areas. Adequate visual acuity for reading and performing fieldwork. Job Details
