Overview
HDS Pharmacy Specialist – Clinical/Sales Applications – Midwest role at BD. The Pharmacy Specialist supports the execution of the Medication Delivery Systems clinical business strategy by providing technical and informative support that differentiates the Hazardous Drug Safety product portfolio. The role strengthens the validity of recommendations for customers and leverages pharmacy expertise to optimize the conversion process. This support is delivered through standardized methodology, conversion management, and education/training facilitation. Responsibilities
Acts as the primary resource for initial education and training of customers on the HDS (Hazardous Drug Solutions) portfolio in inpatient and outpatient pharmacy settings. Provides follow-up support at the pharmacy level to retain existing business. Visits key customer accounts to support retention and identify new opportunities for growth. Provides subject matter expertise and actively participates in the sales process. Contributes to the development of tools to enhance the clinical acumen of the sales team. Reports activities and updates in Salesforce.com. Participates in trade shows to promote the MDS (Medication Management Solutions) portfolio. Manages responsibilities within the allocated T&E expense budget. Adheres to all corporate and external policies, including PharmaCode and AvaMed. Compensation includes a bonus structure based on individual and business performance. Process
Educates on the HDS portfolio, demonstrating effective techniques for sterile compounding with hazardous drugs. Works with the Sales team to optimize the conversion management process throughout the sales cycle. Supports regional conversion management strategy sessions. Shares best practices with the Platform, RBMs, and DNAs to enhance programs and processes. Supports training activities to increase clinical acumen in the Pharmacy for new hires and experienced sales consultants. Understands and can demonstrate the use of approved clinical studies. Ensures completion of vital documentation for customer complaints as needed. Travels as necessary based on account assignments with focus on designated areas of the country. Maintains open and effective communication with internal and external customers. Qualifications
CPhT Certification required BS degree preferred, or equivalent experience 3–5 years’ experience preparing hazardous drugs in a specialty, hospital, or compounding pharmacy Preferred experience with BD CSTD product portfolio Leadership or management experience preferred Solid understanding of USP 797, USP 800 and current safe handling guidelines Knowledge of hazardous drugs across health care settings; 3–5 years’ experience educating others Basic digital literacy: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Follows company policies and demonstrates willingness to travel up to 90% to meet regional, area, and national needs Proficiencies
