Performs maintenance and sustainment of existing networks; identifies and corrects issues. Resolves routine network problems; operates network analyzers, WAN test equipment, and network simulators. Monitors data or voice networks for messages, alarms, or issues; activates scripts as alarms occur; assesses severity and initiates resolution as appropriate. Troubleshoots problems using scripts and standard procedures; escalates as needed; researches issues for predefined resolutions. Documents results and communicates alarms or issues and actions taken to resolve or escalate. Executes scheduled maintenance routines and follows standard procedures; escalates when necessary. Activates/deactivates network lines according to established schedules. Performs first- and/or second-level problem determination and interfaces with users and network vendors. Follows detailed work instructions. Qualifications
Active & Current TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly is REQUIRED. Two (2) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity are required. An Associate's degree in engineering technology from an accredited college is required; two (2) years of additional network engineering experience may be substituted for the degree. Experience with installation and configuration of network devices (firewalls, switches, routers, cabling) including Cisco, Brocade, or Juniper; WAN technologies (e.g., SONET OC3/OC48/OC192, DS3, T1); MPLS, BGP, VPNs; and Taclanes/KG-175 is a plus. An IAT level II baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01-M is required. Required Clearance: TS/SCI Full-Scope polygraph clearance. Desired: CompTIA Network+, CCENT, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent.
