Position Summary Commercial IT is seeking an experienced Senior System Architect to join our team and lead digital transformation and application modernization initiatives. The Senior System Architect – Platform, Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM) will support our ION RightAngle platform and collaborate closely with product owners, product managers, and other Commercial IT product line architects. This role is responsible for developing and communicating the technical vision and roadmap for the ETRM product line, ensuring that solutions align with business priorities, strategic goals, and technical standards within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency, and skill level. Actual position title and pay grade will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

Assists in designing governance and standards activities for technology architecture compliance. Participates in hardware and software technology and product standards selection. Participates and contributes in system architect reviews and ensures architecture adherence.

Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure system architecture alignment with business objectives. Identifies organizational and financial impacts of technology architecture.

Evaluates and selects appropriate technologies, platforms, and frameworks for systems. Assesses technology industry and market trends and their impact on the enterprise. Evaluates technology options and advises on technology investment decisions.

Analyzes and translates business and technical requirements into system designs.

Designs and implements end-to-end system architectures that meet business requirements.

Defines system integration approaches and ensures interoperability of system components. Provides guidance and support to development teams during system implementation. Leads technology change initiatives to deliver business outcomes. May oversee technology implementation and modification activities.

Documents and communicates technology architecture design and analysis work. Leads the development of system architecture documentation and diagrams.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field required.

5+ years of relevant architecture experience required.

5+ years ION RightAngle experience required.

Intermediate .NET/C# experience required.

Intermediate SQL Server experience required.

Microsoft Azure experience required.

Complex, multi-application integration experience preferred.

Application Performance Monitoring tool (Dynatrace, App Insights, SolarWinds DPA) experience preferred.

Scaled Agile Framework experience preferred.

Internet of Things (IoT) – Familiarity with IoT concepts and architectures that incorporate connected devices.

Performance Monitoring – Measuring system performance in real time to identify issues and improvements.

Process Orchestration – Coordination and management of tasks within workflows to optimize operations.

Strategic Outlook – Develops long-term plans that align with MPC’s strategy.

System Reliability – Focus on high availability and continuous operation of systems.

Systems Design – Designing technical solutions that meet business requirements and standards.

Location and Compensation Location: Findlay, OH; Additional locations: Denver, CO; San Antonio, TX

Pay Min/Max: $104,300.00 - $179,800.00

Grade: 11 - 12
