Purpose
Develops and leads the end-to-end lifecycle of U.S. and global regulatory and business driven projects. The role contributes to the overall execution of strategic projects and involves strong leadership qualities to partner and influence senior leaders to improve controls and increase operating efficiencies. The role also entails reporting and administrative responsibilities (e.g., supporting the creation of board and steering committee materials, providing guidance to project managers and ensuring overall quality of the program).
Specifically, you will manage projects from inception through implementation including, scoping, identifying key stakeholders, performing business analysis, establishing clear and achievable objectives, drafting project plans, managing the daily execution, reporting and controlling of project related activities, balancing competing demands for quality, scope, time and cost, and ensuring alignment with Head Office. Sample projects include Resolution Planning, Operational Resiliency, OTC Remediation/ CFTC initiatives, FRTB, and Security based Swap Dealer in support of regulatory findings.
What You’ll Do
Customer Focus: Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
Relationship Management: Builds strong relationships with Business Issue Owners and their teams to reflect the true state and provide transparency on project status.
Strategy Development: Define project and program management strategies and practices that support efficient and effective project delivery, while maintaining adherence to internal standards.
Program/Project Planning: Develops program plans and project plans. Establishes clear objectives and balances quality, scope, time, and cost across stakeholders.
Project Lifecycle Management: Applies knowledge and tools to meet objectives through initiat ing, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing; collaborates with technical resources and subject matter experts to ensure deliverables meet objectives.
Risk and Dependency Management: Conducts risk management and maintains risk, issue, dependency, and actions plans; implements mitigation processes.
Budget Management: Plans, estimates, budgets and controls costs to complete programs within the approved budget where relevant.
Resource Management: Organizes and manages project teams, mentors, coaches, and plans for resources needed to achieve objectives.
Drive Performance Culture: Builds a high-performance environment, fosters inclusion, and supports succession and development planning.
Continual Process improvement: Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the RBI team and the firm.
Risk Culture Adherence: Directs day-to-day activities in line with the Bank\'s risk culture, upholding the Code of Conduct and ensuring day-to-day controls for operational and regulatory risk and AML/ATF risk.
What You’ll Bring
At least five years of relevant experience in management consulting and/or financial services and/or internal consulting functions within a complex financial institution, with demonstrated expertise in business strategy, finance, risk and compliance, and technology.
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field.
Professional certifications such as PMP or Six Sigma are a plus.
Interpersonal leadership and influencing skills; ability to manage projects and interact with colleagues at all levels without direct control over resources; strong prioritization and capacity management.
Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences at various levels.
Ability to define and deconstruct problems, structure analyses, and present concise findings to senior management.
Experience managing complex projects and initiatives across barriers.
Understanding of banking products, services, operations, systems, and policies.
