Overview
Lead Solution Architect role at CVS Health. The Lead Solution Architect is accountable for business solution designs for key strategic initiatives, including developing architectures that represent business, applications/integration, data, infrastructure, platform, and security architectures. Partners within Data, Digital, Analytics, and Technology teams. Responsibilities
End to End Solution Leadership: provide ultimate accountability and oversight for driving solutions from cradle to grave for a given domain, mentoring application architects and tech leads familiar with the domain's application architectures. Buy vs Build Analysis: perform in-depth qualitative and quantitative analyses to recommend the best option with clear rationale. Architecture and Design Reviews: lead architecture design reviews, identify gaps, and recommend design changes. Drive modernization opportunities while considering the IT landscape's complexities. Develop Reference Architecture and Implementation: provide leadership to Application Development, Infrastructure and EA to develop cloud-native reference architectures for refactor and optimization of applications. Application Profile Identification: identify applications targeted for refactor and cloud optimization using domain knowledge. Proof of Concept Technology Support: lead POCs and technology deep-dives for partner technologies. Technical Roadblocks: collaborate with development teams to clear performance and other technical obstacles. Cost Optimization: identify opportunities to drive cost efficiencies and reduce technical debt. Tech Debt Management: manage technical debt within a portfolio and develop proposals to reduce it. Soft Skills
Ability to teach and upskill talent; thought leadership and mentoring. Excellent communication and strong collaboration to influence outcomes with cloud capabilities. Required Qualifications
8+ years of design/development experience 2+ years of hands-on cloud implementation experience Subject matter expertise in cloud design and architecture for one or more public clouds (Azure, AWS, or GCP) to deliver large-scale distributed solutions SME level skills in application, data, integration, and security architecture/design SME understanding of APIs (REST, GraphQL, gRPC, etc.) and microservices architecture Experience with technologies that connect modern applications to legacy infrastructure, including streaming platforms like Kafka Ability to collaborate with Aetna Tech, EA, Operations and Security to deliver solutions Experience with enterprise development tools and methodologies (XP, Agile) including DevSecOps and DataOps Hands-on technologist with coding skills and proficiency in modern technology stacks (Cloud, DevOps, Kafka) Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases and cloud database technologies Proven hands-on experience; ability to facilitate adoption of cloud-native/cloud-first architectures Experience integrating with legacy mainframe/mid-range applications and roadmaps for modernization Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the Healthcare Payor Industry is a plus GCP/Azure Architect cloud certification is preferred Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required, or equivalent experience Pay Range
The Typical Pay Range For This Role Is $118,450.00 - $284,280.00. This range represents base pay for positions at this job grade. Actual offer depends on factors such as experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors. Eligible for CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive, and equity award program.
