Overview
TRC seeks a portable metrology technician with Polyworks for a leading aviation manufacturer (air taxi manufacturer) with a location in San Jose. Candidate should have experience with metrology, programming in Polyworks, and hands on experience with Faro or Hexagon. Knowledge of GD&T. Must be open to working extended hours. This is a long-term role. What you’ll do
Program and operate Portable Coordinate Measurement Machines (PCMM) using Polyworks software to create measurement routines Lead the establishment of an aircraft inspection plan including the programming of PCMMs, CMMs and other inspection tools Interpret engineering drawings and translate them into PCMM programs and inspection plans Perform inspections of parts and assemblies to ensure compliance with design tolerances and specifications Record and maintain accurate inspection data and reports to support statistical process analysis Regularly inspect and maintain PCMM machines to ensure accuracy and reliability; ensure the PCMM maintains calibration Troubleshoot and resolve PCMM-related issues as they arise Ensure traceability of measurements and maintain compliance with company quality management systems What you need
High School Diploma or equivalent required 5+ years’ experience in metrology with programming skills in Polyworks, and hands on experience using Hexagon or Faro metrology Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) Experience creating and approving first article inspections with working knowledge of the tools required for inspection Ability to identify/recognize inspection errors and nonconformances and initiate corrective action Experience with MES systems and creating inspection plans electronically Experience working in a manufacturing environment in aerospace or other highly regulated environments Ability to work within a team environment Associate degree or technical certification in Quality Assurance, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field Experience with developing/validating automated inspection equipment in a manufacturing environment Experience with SAP TRC Talent Solutions is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
