Position Description The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a crucial part of the Missile Defense System. This role supports the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to plan ballistic missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and manage networked sensors and weapon systems. C2BMC links, integrates, and synchronizes autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to enhance overall performance and compliance with tests.
In this role, the candidate will serve as a Network Virtualization Engineer and Developer supporting network build-out and deployments to the operational environment as needed. The candidate will work within an agile Scrum team and plan work based on customer requirements and program contractual terms and agreements.
Essential Functions
Will be responsible for planning, deploying, integrating, and testing upgrades to the C2BMC network at operational sites
Will be responsible for traveling to remote locations to lead and perform network installations, independently troubleshoot, and provide status updates to Program personnel
Must have experience with Microsoft Windows Server and RedHat Server handling multi-user applications
Must have experience in developing tools as well as their common usage
Must be skilled in troubleshooting virtual machine issues and performance problems
Must have experience creating VM deployment templates and automating deployments
Must understand Network Attached Storage, especially the NetApp FAS series
Must have Storage Area Network experience with high availability and performance for virtualization
Must be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills, proficient in using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio
Must be able to work well with others in a team and independently on large field projects with other highly motivated network engineers
Must have experience with the Agile Framework or applying Agile principles in engineering work
Possesses an understanding of standard DoD security practices, such as STIG compliance and system accreditation efforts
Perform any other tasks required by the program
Basic Qualifications Please include your current security clearance and IAT or relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.
A Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field such as Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline from an accredited university is preferred, along with 5 years of experience; or a Master’s degree (preferred) in a related STEM discipline with 3 years of experience; or a PhD in a related discipline with 1 year of relevant work experience
Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start with the ability to obtain Top Secret security clearance
A DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, etc.) is required to start

Data Center Virtualization (VCTA)
VMware Certified Professional
Must be able to travel to alternative work sites, such as Schriever Space Force Base, to perform job duties like deployments
Must be a proven systems engineer with hands-on mid-level experience and knowledge of virtualization design, development, and testing methodologies
Must have experience with:
VMware (vCenter)
ESX servers
NetApp NAS/SAN
Windows servers
SQL servers
Must have an in-depth understanding of:
OSI Model
TCP/IP
Routing protocols
Network traffic analysis
Diagnostics and troubleshooting experience
Requires VMware server installation, configuration, management, performance monitoring, and tuning of virtual machines and ESXi servers.
Preferred Qualifications
A current, active in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret security clearance at the time of application is highly preferred
Authentication and encryption methods/capabilities (ACS, Active Directory, GEM-X), virtualization technologies such as:

vSphere
Data Center Virtualization (VCP), VCAP Design, VCAP Deploy, and VCDX are highly desired
Familiarity with Networking

Additional Northrop Grumman Information Primary Level Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
