Up to $185k base 20% bonus + Equity What you'll be doing

Coordinate with and manage our outside tax preparers to gather the information requested in processing tax compliance to ensure timely and accurate tax return filings and payments with all appropriate U.S. agencies. Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns with accompanying workpapers for 1120 REIT, 1120 and 1065 filings, if needed. Understand, manage, and perform quarterly and annual REIT compliance tests to ensure that the Company maintains its REIT status, including preparing projections to monitor distribution requirements. Coordinate and correspond with taxing authorities regarding various notices to ensure accurate regulatory records of all the Company's entities. Work closely with accounting to understand financial statement reporting for separate legal entities, including regular review of accounting system and financial statement information in order to ensure the integrity of the reports for all tax entities. Assist with the development of internal processes, controls, and efficiencies related to tax reporting and compliance. Identify and mitigate tax risks while ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls. Keep current with evolving tax laws and regulations, particularly REIT-specific regulations and developments, and assess their impact on the business. What you'll need

6+ years of experience in a tax role, Big 4 or National CPA firm preferred; combination of private and public accounting experience is acceptable. Masters of Taxation and/or professional certification (CPA) preferred; Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or accounting/tax is required. Prior experience with REIT tax accounting is a must.
