As Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting, you will be responsible for a variety of financial reporting operations, including preparation of Udemy’s SEC filings, ensuring compliance with GAAP and SEC rules and regulations, and adherence to all filing deadlines. Report to the Senior Manager of SEC Reporting and work cross-functionally with accounting, finance, investor relations, tax, legal, and external auditors to deliver timely internal and external reporting in accordance with US GAAP. Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings and investor communications, including SEC filings such as 8-Ks, 10-Qs and 10-Ks, proxy statements, and earnings materials. Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules (cash flow statement, footnote disclosures, MD&A) and oversee the tie-out binder to ensure externally filed information is complete, accurate, and compliant with internal controls. Prepare GAAP and SEC disclosure checklists and oversee the XBRL tagging process for all SEC filings. Coordinate and support external reviews and audits, including preparation of audit schedules, providing sample support, and responding to auditor inquiries. Monitor and test key internal controls over financial reporting to ensure public company compliance. Help prepare monthly and quarterly fluctuation review packages for internal reviews and external auditors. Lead or assist in ad hoc projects as necessary. What you’ll have
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field. CPA certification preferred. 5+ years of relevant work experience, including 2+ years of public accounting experience or financial reporting with a publicly traded company. Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC rules and regulations, including the ability to research accounting codification, reference materials, and peer company filings. Keen attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Experience working with Workiva desk, Equity Edge, and Netsuite preferred. Highly motivated and proactive with strong project management, organizational, oral and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, work independently with minimum supervision, and collaborate with others on cross-functional projects. Proven track record of meeting deadlines and ownership of complex areas. Why work here?
