This opportunity provides for work-life balance. Our client is a well-established non-profit organization seeking a Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team. Responsibilities include general ledger accountability, financial reporting, profitability analysis, and other special projects as assigned. The role involves meeting tight deadlines and managing various accounting activities such as ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audits, and supporting budget and forecast activities. Essential Functions Perform monthly closing activities and prepare financial statements on both accrual and cash basis for the organization and its affiliates. Review budgets/forecasts, prepare analysis and variance reports. Assist with the budget preparation process. Prepare Year-End information for audits and tax returns. Generate financial reports for management and the Board. Perform bank reconciliations and oversee cash management to meet daily needs and maintain reserves. Support additional duties as assigned. Collaborate with the Controller and team to establish internal policies, procedures, and controls. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of: GAAP accounting standards. Budgeting and cash forecasting methodologies. Cash disbursement policies and procedures. Auditing practices. Financial management and bank reconciliation. Yardi and QuickBooks software. Skills: Excellent writing and communication skills. Strong analytical skills with financial data, budgets, and records. Ability to interpret legal and loan documents and monitor compliance. Proficiency in PC applications, especially Excel with formulas and macros. High attention to detail. Effective interpersonal skills for working with staff and property managers. Ability to: Analyze and monitor budgets and variances. Develop and prepare budgets and forecasts. Reconcile bank accounts and prepare audits and tax returns. Organize complex data efficiently. Prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Create operating proformas and record complex transactions, including consolidations and eliminations. Education & Experience A combination of education and related experience may substitute for formal education requirements. BA in Finance or Accounting, or related field. 5+ years of experience in corporate accounting; understanding of real estate accounting is a plus. Many of our job openings can be viewed at
