Hawkswood School is searching for a full-time Accounts Receivable Bookkeeper to join the business office team.
The Accounts Receivable Bookkeeper performs a variety of bookkeeping duties and is responsible for day-to-day financial transactions including tuition billing, reconciling school district tuition payments, and developing/facilitating positive relationships with school district personnel. The Accounts Receivable Bookkeeper must pay strict attention to detail, be able to work independently, communicate well and exercise discretion in executing essential functions.
This position is available beginning in November/December of 2025. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am – 4pm for a total of 36.25 hours per week, 12 months per year.

Hawkswood School offers a competitive annual salary (between $50,000 and $75,000 based upon level of education achieved and years of experience) and full benefit package that includes medical, prescription, dental, vision, life insurance, long term disability, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) retirement plan and paid time off. Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
Facilitates cordial relationships with school districts, school accountant, staff members, auditors and other stakeholders. Generates and distributes all district tuition invoices on a monthly basis. Prepares tuition contracts annually and on an as-needed basis. Receives and appropriately applies district payments to invoices and reconciles any discrepancies in a timely manner. Prepares all daily bank deposits. Generates accounting statements and management reports as needed. Coordinates with main office to maintain accurate student enrollment information. Utilizes computerized accounting software programs (Quickbooks and NJRealtime) to perform duties and responsibilities. Maintains confidentiality of student and school information. Qualifications
Minimum of a High School Diploma 2 to 4 years of experience in accounts receivable or a similar role Proficient in the use of financial technology including QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and school accounting databases. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, customer service and communication (verbal and written) skills Successful candidates will be required to complete a physical and drug screen, as well as a NJ Department of Education criminal history background check Hawkswood School is a private school in Eatontown, New Jersey, approved by the State of New Jersey to provide special education services and supports to students on the autism spectrum and with multiple disabilities, ages 3-21.
